WEST COAST SWIFT WING

MAY 2019

EDITOR: CAROL & GERRY HAMPTON AV8RGNH@SBCGLOBAL.NET 530-676-7755

It has been a while since we put out a newsletter—we still love you guys and gals, so a quick update.

Swift National Kansas City

Things are shaping up for our Swift Nationals in Kansas City. Actually, at the New Century Airport (IXD) just outside KC. Hats and shirts are being printed with the new logo. The main hotel is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites 15475 S. Rodgers Rd, Olathe, KS 66062 —913-948-9000 with a rate of $119/night breakfast included. The overflow hotel will be the Candlewood Suites 15490 S. Rodger Rd, Olathe, KS 66062 — 913-768-8888 with a rate of $94/night…no breakfast. There will be van service from the hotels. Our catering services are in place (I think you will like the food the menu is amazing).

The preferred FBO is Advanced Aviation (913-768-1500), you can book a car through them (still working on fuel pricing).

We are putting together a schedule with multiple forums and tours (Appareo, Garmin, McFarlane, Buckaroo restoration, and a talk by Top Gun-Roger Disrud). Of course we will be running the formation ground school and lots of formation flying, please come prepared with a review of your manual. Most importantly please bring YOU, we want to see you and your airplane. As always, if there is something you would like to see or have us do please let us know, we are doing this for you.

Paul Mercandetti

Westover 2019 27-29 September

The hotel will again be the Best Western Amador Inn, say you are with the Swift group to get the best rate. Their number is 209-223-0211. More info forthcoming.

Legend of Flight Pancake Breakfast

The Legends of Flight Museum puts on a pancake breakfast the fourth Saturday of the month, April thru October.

This is a nice get together with a wide variety of aircraft to peruse. I would encourage you to attend.
