Swift Checklists

March 31, 2015 by Sam Swift

Swift CFI Sam Swift has offered to share with Swifters the checklists that he prepares for the Swift owners he works with. Currently, Sam has checklists available for the following engines in Swifts…

  • 125 HP Continental
  • 145 HP Continental
  • 210 HP Continental
  • 150 HP Lycoming
  • 160 HP Lycoming
  • 180 HP Lycoming
  • 200 HP Lycoming

To help customize a checklist to your Swift Sam would also need to know the your aircraft’s configuration, such as prop (fixed pitch or constant speed), carbureted or fuel injected (in the case of the 160hp Lyc for example), what type of aux fuel tanks, if any, are installed (the Swift has Temco 9 Gal, Merlyn outer wing, etc.), if you have manual (wobble) fuel pump or electric fuel boost pump and whether you have an avionics master switch, strobes, etc.. The canopy type is nice to know but not critical.   You should include anything that might be nice to have on the checklist. There is a separate page for EMERGENCY procedures included with the checklist.

Sam is constantly updating items as he works to improve on the look, contents and colors. Sam says… “As always, refer to your POH for ALL operational information, and use this checklist strictly as a secondary reference to what was supplied by Globe/Temco”.  Anyone who gets one will automatically get an updated version whenever I make improvements.

We are lucky to have a professional and dedicated instructor like Sam helping to make sure pilots are checked out safely in the Swift.

Sample pages from Sam’s Swift Checklist are shown below for your review.

To “order” a checklist or if you have any questions contact Sam.
